SASS Guidelines for The Plainsman Match

* This event requires two .36 caliber or larger Frontiersman Category style percussion revolvers, shot Duelist style.

* Must use a SASS-legal single-shot rifle firing a traditional black powder rifle or revolver caliber cartridge (e.g., not a .30-30). Due to range restrictions, the rifle must be .45-70 or smaller, and the bullet must be 405 grains or smaller. The rifle may have spring actuated ejectors if they are standard for that rifle.

* Must use a side by side shotgun (with or without exposed hammers) or a lever action shotgun.

* Must use black powder or SASS-approved substitutes (Pyrodex, American Pioneer Powder, Hodgdon 777, and Goex Pinnacle are examples) in all rifle, revolver, and shotgun loads.
